Anniversary Masses & Family Gatherings
What a wonderful kickoff to our 50th Anniversary year!
Almost 3,500 parishioners attended the family Masses August 28 & 29, then gathered in and around a big tent for a celebratory reception.
The Masses featured a new song, “The Flame of Love,” written for the Jubilee by Music Director Jennifer Kerr Budziak, and introduced a new Jubilee Prayer.
At the reception, each family was presented with a limited edition Christmas ornament commemorating our 50th anniversary as a parish. Adults signed their names and children added their handprints to banners that will adorn the church during the September 18 Mass with the Cardinal. In addition, there were refreshments, camaraderie and more information about upcoming events for the year.
50th Jubilee Mass & Celebration on September 18th
Join us on at 4:00 PM on September 18th to celebrate our Jubilee Mass with Francis Cardinal George and other religious who have been part of St. John of the Cross. Please be a part of this great celebration along with many of our former pastors, associate pastors, and visiting priests.
We are looking forward to celebrating the contributions of so many that have helped build our community.
Following the 50th Jubilee Mass, we will host a Parish Family Dinner in a great tent on the parish grounds. This celebration will include a formal dinner and activities to entertain folks of all ages – from children’s entertainers to dancing to live band music.
